Estalyn Walcoff decided to take psilocybin mushrooms. Her experience was interesting because it brought all of her worst fears and pains to the surface, but transformed them into a profound “feeling of connectedness that runs through all of us.”
Five years before she had this experience, Walcoff was diagnosed with a horrible form of cancer and as a result, experienced severe, nearly endless anxiety. She took the mushrooms in a livingroom-like setting under the surveillance of trained psychologists Jeffrey Guss and a psychotherapist by the name of Seema Desai. Both doctors are a part of a New York University clinical trial that assesses the impact of psilocybin on people suffering from cancer.
The story she has to tell of the experience is fascinating and incredible. We recommend giving the video a watch.
